Dr. Ásthildur Jónsdóttir: Artistic Actions for Sustainability

Dr. Ásthildur Jónsdóttir, known for her innovative, creative approaches to art and sustainability education, will work with concepts of sustainability through participatory pedagogy by fostering a creative and collaborative learning environment. She will integrate artistic practices with community engagement to address environmental and social challenges, encouraging students to explore sustainability through hands-on projects and interdisciplinary collaboration. She will introduce methods such as participatory artmaking, dialogic learning, and co-creative problem-solving. Dr. Jónsdóttir will discuss why it is important to inspire students to think critically and act collectively. Her approach will emphasize the role of imagination and creativity in envisioning sustainable futures, empowering students to become active agents of change within their communities.

Über die Vortragsreihe

Die Klimakrise ist eine komplexe sozio-ökologische, ökonomische und kulturelle Herausforderung, die alle Lebensbereiche durchdringt. So ist es auch Aufgabe der Kunstpädagogik, sich den Problemstellungen der Klimakrise anzunehmen und kunstpädagogische Handlungsweisen für eine transformative Zukunft zu entwickeln. Der Frage, wie diese konkret ausgestaltet sein können, nähern sich die drei Vortragenden auf ihre je eigene Weise.
